Crom Cruach

God of Time

Crom is the Primal God, who alone begat Lady Berchta and Lord Huldar. He is the grandfather of Oden, Thoare, Freygga, Lokki and Malkina, great-grandfather of Idun, Heimdall, Fursete, Sife, Skaddie, Aegur, Turuk-roth, and Ackdynu, and great-great grandfather of the demigods Frayr and Eastara. He is the wisest of all the Gods of Erden, and the one closest to omniscient, with a…well, deific grasp of causation and probability. He is the God of the march of time, both inevitability, the ponderous weight of entropy, precedent and habituation, and mutability, the far-reaching changes that can be wrought by decisive action at precisely the right moment.

His priests instruct the flock in the importance of planning wisely for the future while at the same time living in the precious, ineffable moment, assisting them to differentiate between those wants or troubles with long-reaching consequences, and those that won't really matter tomorrow, next month or next year. They counsel patience and help all the members of the flock adapt themselves to their changing bodies, styles of living, and needs as they go through life.

The deity is neutral good. The priests may be any good alignment; most are neutral good. The flock may be of any alignment, but they will be consistently guided toward the path of goodness.

At 1st level he will know what time it is to with the canon; at 3rd level he will know to within the hour; at 5th, to within the quarter-hour; at 7th, to the minute.
At 5th level he will be able to estimate the time required to perform any task with which he is familiar to within 25% (+/-) of the actual time required; at 7th level, to within 15%; at 9th level, to within 5%.

Lay To Rest: Undead are very rare on Erden. There have never been any nefariously created undead creatures, and as long as the gods hold sway, there never will be, but upon infrequent occasion the circumstances of someone's death keep them from passing peacefully into the afterlife. They become ghosts, haunts, even spectres and revenants. Only a priest of Crom of 7th level or higher can communicate with these tormented spirits well enough to help them lay down their mortal burdens and move on (success on a d20 is 20 at 7th level, reducing by 3 each subsequent level (20, 17, 14, 11, 8, 5, 2, automatic at 14th and higher levels).

The followers are received at 8th level, and consist of one fifth-level priest, five third-level priests, and ten first-level priests of the same order. The priest may take the following on adventures: Two priests of his choice. The priesthood will pay for half of the cost of stronghold construction at 8th level.
